SM-38 Model No. 1 Telephone Booth

One two-part resin miniature for $5.

This is Japan’s first public telephone (“jida denwa”) booth, a favorite place for people to get out of the rain and sometimes make phone calls. The first outdoor telephone booth was installed near Tokyo’s Kyobashi in 1900 (Meiji 33); the designed remained unchanged until 1911. It is the most distinctly ‘Japanese’ of the early 20th century telephone booths.

Painted resin prototype and Natsuko are for reference only. The resin booth is unpainted.

Sculpted by Medusa Project.
